Musicians, who are interested in excelling in their chosen path, especially those who play stringed instruments like Veena, Violin, Sitar, they should visit Shri Ranganatha Temple, Srirangam, Trichy District, Tamil Nadu, South India and offer sincere prayers to Lord Ranganatha and meditate on him.

It is especially beneficial if they attend and take part in the Ekantha Veena Seva performed as part of the Ira Pathu Festival, at least as spectators, in the temple.

In addition it is suggested that they sit and mediate on Lord Ranganatha and chant his moola mantra Om Namo Narayana at least 10,008 times continuously, in close proximity to Naazhikaettan entrance and Rajamahendran Sutru, located inside Srirangam temple. 

The importance, benefits and sacred nature of Veena can be found in Chandogya Upanishad, Divya Prabandham as well as in Acharya Hridayam.

For obtaining LORD KUBERA's blessings (Blessings of the LORD of WEALTH), persons should ...........

For obtaining the blessings of Lord Kubera, one should do the following.

(1) Do a Nivedanam of ‘Chakkarai Pongal’ or ‘Pal Payasam’ along with different kinds of fruits after performing a Lakshmi Pooja, on CHITRA POURNAMI day, for the blessings of Lord Kubera, the Lord of Wealth,
(2)  By doing a Nivedanam of Chakkarai Pongal along with different kinds of fruits and by lighting a Ghee Lamp on Fridays, blessings of Lord Kubera, the Lord of Wealth are obtained. 
To give exalted status to 21 generations of pitrus, a person should.............

Persons who are interested in providing exalted status to their 21 generations of pitrus, they should do the following.

  • Contribute towards the building of Pitru Karya Sthans (also called as Gnanavapis), buildings where all pitru karyas are done 
  • Contribute to pitru karya sthans in the form of donations of fruits, vegetables, rice for the feeding of brahmins
  • Provider green fodder to cows
  • Contribute to establish Goshalas for the care of old, infirm and sick cows
  • Contribute for lighting lamps in temples which are suffering from lack of finances for conducting the daily poojas
  • Contribute to the building fund of temples which are dilapidated, collapsed due to passage of time and which  are badly in need of repair.
