As per Hindu scriptures, Karma balance occurs because of performance and non performance of a specific act. As a responsible devout citizen, who are believers of God, our objective should be to get rid of all the karma balances that might have occurred over several cycles of birth and deaths.

These karmas result in doshams and shabams creating trouble in our lives. Some of the main doshams and shabams affecting us have been given below

(1) Pitru

(2) Brahmin (atrocities committed against learned brahmins)

(3) Brahmahathi (killing of people)

(3) Stree (atrocities committed against women)

(4) Go (atrocities committed against Cow and other sacred animals) 

Let us take the most important dosham and shabams affecting people - PITRU DOSHAM, which is called also as PITRU SHABAM

Removal of Pitru Doshas, Pitru Shapas

Propitiating and satisfying one's ancestors (or) pitrus is suggested in the scriptures as one of the most important pariharas and remedies.

The scriptures say that pitru doshas and pitru shabams result in the following obstacles in life

(1) Delayed marriage

(2) Failed marriage resulting in divorces

(3) Childlessness (or) delayed childbirth 

(4) Failed career, joblessness, lack of promotions, frequent job hopping

(5) failure in business ventures

(6) cheating by business partners

(7) untimely death of young persons

(8) accidental death within family members

(9) death of family members due to natural disasters etc.

 

Remedies for the above can consist of a combination of the following.

(1) parihara homams

(2) parihara poojas

(3) guided and visualised meditation processes

(4) visits to specific temples

(5) lighting of gingelly oil lamps in specific temples

(6) Feeding the learned brahmins in specific places (this topic shall be dealt with separately)
