• Shiva Purana says that the divine and most scared Bilva tree is the manifest form of Lord Shiva himself.

• Under the bilva tree and at its base, all the great tirthas are said to reside

• One who worships the shivalinga while sitting under the Bilva tree, attains Shiva Loka prapthi.

• A person who washes his head by this tree is said to have taken bath in all the sacred rivers of the world

• One who performs Bilva pooja with flowers and incense achieves Shiva Loka, the abode of pure consciousness, and has happiness and prosperity bestowed upon them. 

• The lighting of the deepa (lamp) in front of this tree bestows knowledge and enables the devotee to merge in Lord Shiva. 

• If a devotee performs bilva archana to a bilva tree with freshly plucked bilva leaves from the same bilva tree and worships the tree, he/she will be freed from all vices

• A devotee who feeds another devotee under the Bilva will grow in virtue.
